Every client's design requirements are unique, so an initial consultation is recommended to determine their needs, the scope of their project and what deliverables are required by when. Not every client needs a photorealistic rendering or animation for their particular project, so identifying what is needed is a part of this process. If they have a specific budget that they need to work with, we can determine what can be produced within that limitation as well.
When working with interior designers, architects and builders, design input must be provided so that the deliverables will clearly communicate their vision to their clients. Mood boards, existing drawings, inspiration photos or physical samples are all useful for creating these models and renderings as accurately as possible.
The fastest method to transform interior spaces into a 3D model is through a photogrammetric scan using a smartphone or tablet with a LiDAR camera. Even the end client can perform this scan if they wish. A third-party application such as Canvas is commonly used for this purpose because it can convert the scan into a SketchUp model for an extra fee. Alternatively, we can utilize existing architectural drawings or files, site measurements, or even reference photographs, provided they adequately capture the space.
Once the client's space has been modeled, additional time is spent crafting architectural details and 3D assets such as furnishings, lights and other components. It is important that every piece in the design is accurately modeled to scale and textured in order to faithfully convey its presence in a photorealistic rendering or animation.
Every surface of every object in the 3D model needs to have a texture applied to make it look real in a rendering. Texture authoring is the process of creating these textures based on your design input. Reference photos or physical samples can be used to create these textures so that they behave realistically when light is applied. From wallpaper, velvet or fluffy furs, we can create a texture that matches its real-life counterpart.
When all of the modeling and texture authoring is finished, we render the scenes that showcase your design in the best light possible. If animations are requested, those frames are rendered at this time as well.
Even after rendering, some images may require touch up or compositing before they are presented to the client. Company logo watermarks can be added to protect your intellectual property as well. If an animation was required, then video editing is performed at this time. If 2D construction drawings were requested, then those would also be completed at this time.
The agreed-upon deliverables will be provided to you by the requested date, along with a link to host your files, which you can access at any time.
As the most realistic rendering software available, Chaos V-Ray is our rendering engine of choice. With its ray-tracing capabilities, CPU and GPU processing, photorealistic renderings can be produced quickly and accurately.
Chaos Vantage enhances realism by providing real-time photorealistic walkthroughs and swiftly producing animations through its advanced GPU graphics engine.
Chaos Phoenix effectively simulates fire, water, and smoke for animations by accurately calculating particle behavior, enhancing the realism of these elements.
For complex 3D modeling tasks, we utilize 3ds Max and its array of parametric modifiers and vertex-based tools to craft organic shapes and intricate structures.
SketchUp Pro and LayOut serve as the primary tools for our architectural and interior design projects. SketchUp Pro enables us to rapidly model a space, incorporate additional 3D assets, and produce scaled 2D construction drawings using LayOut. Any additions or modifications can be smoothly synchronized between the 3D model and the 2D drawings, which streamlines the process and cuts costs.
Marvelous Designer is utilized for the most realistic cloth modeling and animation due to its unparalleled realism in simulating cloth behavior.
To create highly realistic textures for photorealistic renderings, Adobe Substance Designer, Substance Paint, and Substance 3D Sampler are utilized. These tools enable the accurate recreation of any material, whether sourced from a photograph or a physical sample, into a texture that looks authentic in a rendering.
Adobe After Effects is the preferred post-production editing tool for its cinematic capabilities, enabling the creation of professional animations customized to meet our clients' specific requirements.
